Here we are "roughin' it".
Lily got really into it.
Our first taste of wind. And cold.
And, no trip west on 84 to Portland would be complete without a quick stop at Multnomah Falls.
Me, explaining the "rules". You know stuff like, don't run out in front of cars, stay where we can see you, don't go throwing yourself off a cliff...
There's so much darn water here, these falls look pretty much the same no matter what time of year you visit.
Somehow my girls manage to find some rather ordinary object (aka: hollowed out tree) and think it's the main attraction.
Arrival in Portland: Approximately 5:30 local time. Checked into hotel, ordered pizza, swam in hotel pool, threatened to turn the kids right back around and return home if they did not konk out in less than sixty seconds. First day of Oregon Coast vacation complete.
